Kurt Donsbach

1935–2021 · D.C., Western States — legitimate. His naturopathic degree was found to be fraudulent.

Founded Donsbach University, described as the most prolific producer of spurious diplomas in the field — issuing more nutrition doctorates than every accredited programme in the country combined.

On the record. Convicted in 1971 and 1973; convicted in 1996 of tax evasion and smuggling illegal medications; arrested in 2009 on eleven felony counts and pleaded guilty in 2010 to thirteen felonies including practising medicine without a license, serving roughly a year for selling fraudulent cancer treatments. His Mexican hospital was closed by health authorities after Coretta Scott King died there in January 2006.

Donsbach was deeply embedded in this world — a fixture of the National Health Federation ecosystem and a constant presence on the circuit — which means he may well appear on these tapes.

He is included here for one reason: an archive that documents only the field’s credible figures is not documenting the field. The diploma mill he ran is a substantial part of why nutrition credentials were treated as worthless for a generation, and that is history worth recording accurately.

Any recording of his is presented as a historical artifact. Nothing more.
