The catalogue
Every recording in the collection is listed here as it is inventoried — including the ones we cannot yet publish. The catalogue is the record; the audio follows as rights allow.
The catalogue is being built. Tapes are currently being inventoried and
digitised. Entries appear here as each recording is logged — speaker, event, date and
condition first, audio once rights are settled.
How this archive is handled
Holding a tape is not the same as holding the right to publish it. A recorded lecture carries at least two layers of rights: the recording itself, and the speaker's own words and performance. We treat both seriously.
Every entry carries one of these statuses:
- Cleared — written permission is on file and the full recording is published.
- Clearance pending — we have asked the rights holder and are awaiting an answer.
- Excerpt only — a short passage is published for commentary and identification.
- No rights holder found — the talk is catalogued for the historical record, but not published. If you are an heir, estate or foundation and this is your speaker, please write to us.
Recordings are historical documents. They reflect the science, the claims and the controversies of their moment — not present-day medical consensus, and not an endorsement by this site.
